Team 2910 is one of the strong FRC teams that consistently wins regionals and makes in roads into the World Championships. This robot was Team 2910's take on the 2023 FRC Game, Charged Up.
Their robot features a swerve drivebase with Mk4i modules from Swerve Drive Specialities (SDS).
This robot uses a compact extendable arm. The extendable arm appears to use a telescoping lift given the usage of telescoping lift modules, but it is in fact actually a cascade lift. Telescoping lift modules were likely chosen given their compact design. The cascade lift is powered by a toothed belt, and the cascade rigging is achieved by very carefully routed rope. For more details on how this exactly works, refer to Macro Design: Preparing for the Game Drop subchapter 9.3. The extendable arm is able to reach the Top Row of the Grid to score Cones/Cubes for maximum points.
Team 2910 uses a multi tool claw that is capable of grabbing both Cones and Cubes. This claw is mounted a wrist so that it can be angled to effectively pick up game objects or to deposit them on the Grid working in conjunction with the extendable arm.
To see a novice design for the Charged Up season, refer to Ref 38. To see another fully fledged design, refer Ref 32.
