Team members read individually and then gather once a a week to discuss the concepts as a team. This book is an absolute lifesaver for me as a beginner in FRC. It not only gives a simple yet comprehensive overview of every major component of FRC but it's also packed with genuinely useful designs shared by many FRC teams. The writing is clear and easy to read and the excellent organization makes it simple to find the exact information you're looking for or revisit key points whenever needed. The many visual aids are very helpfu in understandign the topics while the summary tables and decision flowcharts the the end of each chapter are gems! This book not only taught me the basics of FRC but also introducted advanced topics that open my mind to complex designs. If you want a resource to kick off your FRC journey or just refresh your memory, this book is a must-read. Is there a direct purchase discount for small orders?
Yes, direct purchases for US teams come with a discount, regardless of order size.
Why is there no direct purchase discount for non-US teams?
This book is printed on demand to minimize waste and support a more sustainable, environmentally responsible production model. Print-on-demand facilities are significantly more developed and cost-efficient in the United States, which allows us to offer discounted pricing for US orders. Unfortunately, these cost efficiencies aren't available in other regions yet, so we're unable to extend the same discount internationally. However, if you are making a bulk order outside the US, we can sometimes match the US direct purchase price for sufficiently large orders.
Is direct purchase the best option for US teams?
Typically, direct purchase provides the most affordable option for US teams. However, there are situations where buying through Amazon may be the better choice. Amazon sometimes runs promotions on book titles. Prime members receive free shipping, and turnaround times can be significantly faster–sometimes by as many as 10 days compared to direct purchase. Additionally, schools that are already registered with Amazon for tax-exempt purchasing may find that the combined savings on Amazon offer the best overall value. Please note that this tax exemption applies only to school administrators placing the order, not to individual students.
Do you offer any discount for non-US teams? What about bulk orders?
Please email us for special pricing on bulk orders for non-US teams. We may be able to arrange for shipments from a location closer to you. However, we are unable to offer discounts for individual or small orders.
Do you offer further bulk order discount for US teams?
For US teams, please note that we will only be able to offer marginal discount from the US direct purchase price listed on this page as we are passing onto you all savings regardless of single copy or multiple copy orders. If your order quantity is over 20, please reach out to us.
